GotOneForYa LLC ("GotOneForYa," "we," "us," or "our") operates the GotOneForYa platform and the website at gotoneforya.com. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your information when you use our services.

What We Collect
Information you provide directly:
- Your phone number, submitted through a participating guitar shop's want list form
- A description of the guitar or gear you're looking for, and optionally a maximum price
- Your consent to receive SMS notifications
Information collected automatically:
- Standard web server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited) when you visit gotoneforya.com
- SMS delivery and response data (e.g., delivery receipts, opt-out requests) processed through our messaging provider
We use PostHog for website analytics, which may collect anonymized usage data such as page views and interactions to help us improve the site. For details on how PostHog handles data, see PostHog's Privacy Policy.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Match your want list requests against inventory at the guitar shop you submitted your request to
- Send you SMS notifications when a potential match is found
- Confirm your want list submission via text message
- Process opt-out requests
- Improve and maintain the GotOneForYa platform
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your information for advertising. Your want list data belongs to the shop you submitted it to — we act as a technology provider to that shop.
How We Share Your Information
We share your information only in the following circumstances:
- With the guitar shop you submitted your request to. Your phone number, want list description, and match notifications are visible to the shop that operates the want list you signed up for. Each shop is a separate business and may have its own privacy practices.
- With service providers who help us operate the platform, including:
- Twilio for SMS messaging (see Twilio's Privacy Policy)
- Amazon Web Services (AWS) for cloud hosting and data storage (see AWS Privacy Notice)
- If required by law, such as in response to a subpoena, court order, or legal process.
We do not share your data with any other third parties.
SMS Messaging
When you submit a want list request through a participating shop, you consent to receive text messages from GotOneForYa on behalf of that shop. Here's what to know:
- Message types: Want list confirmations and inventory match notifications.
- Message frequency: Varies. You'll receive a confirmation when you submit a request, and notifications only when matching inventory arrives — this could be rarely or never, depending on what you're looking for.
- Opt-out: Reply STOP to any message to stop receiving texts. You'll receive a one-time confirmation that you've been unsubscribed.
- Help: Reply HELP to any message for support information.
- Message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile carrier and plan.
Your consent to receive messages is not a condition of any purchase.
Data Retention
We retain your want list data and phone number for as long as your request is active with a participating shop. If you opt out of SMS notifications, we retain a record of your opt-out to ensure we don't message you again, but we remove your want list data from active matching.
If a shop stops using GotOneForYa, we delete the want list data associated with that shop.
Data Security
We take reasonable measures to protect your information, including:
- Encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS)
- Secure cloud infrastructure on AWS with access controls
- Limited access to personal data on a need-to-know basis
No system is 100% secure. While we work to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children's Privacy
GotOneForYa is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has submitted information through our service, please contact us and we will delete it.
Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
- Request access to the personal information we hold about you
- Request correction or deletion of your information
- Opt out of SMS notifications at any time by replying STOP
